Dr. Herbst has been involved in research since she got her PhD in cellular physiology in 1990.  She continued her research in a postdoctoral fellowship, in medical school and in her endocrinology fellowship program.  She received a large grant from the Lipedema Foundation when she was an associate professor at the University of Arizona and is continuing her research with FACT Research.
